Monument Dedication, Richmond KY July 21

This sounds interesting. I may try to make it down for the ceremony. Richmond was one of the more overwhelming Confederate victories of the war, as part of the Confederate Invasion of Kentucky, leading up to the Siege of Cincinnati, with the campaign culminating at Perryville.

Hopefully more people will learn that the battle of Richmond had nothing to do with Virginia.

Dedication of a monument in honor of the Michigan troops who fought at the Battle of Richmond is scheduled for Saturday, July 21.  Ceremonies will take place at Mt. Zion Church at 11 a.m.  Mt. Zion Christian Church is located at 830 Battlefield Memorial Hwy., Richmond – 1/4 mile past the Battle of Richmond Visitors Center on the right.  For more information, please call 859-624-0013.
